DIRECTOR Jack Avison
Having moved to Australia from the UK in 2009, Jack quickly developed an appreciation for Melbourne—its culture, food, coffee and relaxed way of life. With an early interest in furniture and design, he began his career in cabinetmaking, where he developed a passion for creating considered, bespoke joinery for residential interiors.
Jack’s career has been shaped by hands-on experience across every stage of the joinery process. Beginning on the factory floor, operating panel saws and assembling cabinetry, he progressed at a young age to the role of factory foreman, coordinating the production of large and complex projects. He later moved into high-end residential installation, working as a lead cabinet installer and refining his understanding of detailing, precision and the level of finish required in premium homes.
Alongside his practical experience, Jack spent years developing his skills in design, documentation and technical detailing. This combination of factory production, on-site installation and design knowledge has given him a perspective that is uncommon within the industry—an ability to approach design not only aesthetically, but with a deep understanding of how joinery is constructed, installed and resolved. His knowledge of cabinetry systems, hardware, materials and construction methodology continues to inform the way NOSIVA approaches every project.
In 2016, Jack made the decision to dedicate himself full-time to building NOSIVA. Since then, he has continued to refine his craft while collaborating with some of Melbourne’s leading architects, builders and interior designers. Over time, NOSIVA has evolved into a business founded on integrity, quality, craftsmanship and a commitment to delivering highly considered interiors.
As the scope of his projects expanded, Jack became a Registered Building Practitioner, allowing NOSIVA to move beyond custom joinery and into the delivery of complete renovation projects. Working alongside a carefully selected network of designers, trades and building professionals, he has developed a renovation process focused on communication, efficiency, collaboration and a seamless flow from design through to completion.
Jack is deeply invested in the work he creates and the experience his clients receive throughout the process. With more than 17 years of industry experience, he has established a strong reputation in Melbourne for high-quality custom joinery and residential renovations, collaborating with some of Australia’s respected interior designers, architects and building professionals.
Jack is a recognised Designer Member of the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute (KBDi), has received multiple kitchen and design awards, and is a Registered Building Practitioner with the Victorian Building Authority — DB-L 62388.
